Hveravellir is one of them. To reach it, you travel along the F35, one of the most accessible off-road tracks in the interior, but still treacherous. The crossing takes place through a vast desert, almost devoid of landmarks, with isolated mountains and glaciers on the horizon that seem to float in space. Almost at the end of this crossing, you reach Hveravellir, a circumscribed area where geothermal energy concentrates and manifests directly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are many ways to photograph this place, but for me, it made sense to abandon traditional landscape interpretation. I chose to use a drone, taking advantage of favorable wind windows, to fly over the geothermal pools and focus exclusively on their shapes, colors, and stratifications. I maintained a low altitude, a few meters above the ground, waiting for the raking light to begin shaping the surfaces, revealing their volumes and micro-variations. When the wind began to move with more determination, sweeping away the water vapor and opening up the view, the structures emerged with sudden clarity. It was at that moment that the place revealed its deepest complexity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shapes and colors observed from above immediately brought to mind, for me, dynamics that belong to physics and the universe: energy fields, transforming nuclei, unstable systems in temporary equilibrium. The works Primal Pulse, Quantum Oasis, and Voltage do not aim to represent Hveravellir in a descriptive sense, but to visually translate a sensation of primordial energy, of matter in continuous becoming. From the first flyovers, it was clear that this place required a different interpretation: not vertical in the landscape sense, but aerial and close-up, capable of isolating the surfaces from their context. I used the drone at a low altitude, moving slowly over the ground.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is how Chromatic Fluid 1, Chromatic Fluid 2, and Merge were born. As I progressively approached the ground, the shapes began to change before my eyes: streaks resembling the movement of water, interrupted flows, areas of chromatic fusion where different elements seemed to meet and blend. The closer the distance, the more the landscape lost all geographical connotation, transforming into a fluid, almost dynamic field, where matter still seemed to be in motion despite its apparent immobility.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThese images do not stem from a specific event, but from prolonged observation. They capture a moment in which the ground, while solid, retains the appearance of something still happening. In Chromatic Fluid 1 and Chromatic Fluid 2, color dominates as the primary element, appearing fluid, as if perhaps immersed in a liquid, while in Merge, the surfaces seem to merge, blurring the boundaries between individual components. All three works share the same formation process, but each aims to convey a different perception of the same phenomenon.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn Hverir, the landscape does not present itself as a definitive form, but as a trace of an ongoing chemical and geological process. Almost at the end of this crossing, you reach Hveravellir, a circumscribed area where geothermal energy concentrates and manifests directly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are many ways to photograph this place, but for me, it made sense to abandon traditional landscape interpretation. I chose to use a drone, taking advantage of favorable wind windows, to fly over the geothermal pools and focus exclusively on their shapes, colors, and stratifications. I maintained a low altitude, a few meters above the ground, waiting for the raking light to begin shaping the surfaces, revealing their volumes and micro-variations. When the wind began to move with more determination, sweeping away the water vapor and opening up the view, the structures emerged with sudden clarity. It was at that moment that the place revealed its deepest complexity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shapes and colors observed from above immediately brought to mind, for me, dynamics that belong to physics and the universe: energy fields, transforming nuclei, unstable systems in temporary equilibrium. The works Primal Pulse, Quantum Oasis, and Voltage do not aim to represent Hveravellir in a descriptive sense, but to visually translate a sensation of primordial energy, of matter in continuous becoming. Hveravellir is one of them. To reach it, you travel along the F35, one of the most accessible off-road tracks in the interior, but still treacherous. The crossing takes place through a vast desert, almost devoid of landmarks, with isolated mountains and glaciers on the horizon that seem to float in space. Almost at the end of this crossing, you reach Hveravellir, a circumscribed area where geothermal energy concentrates and manifests directly.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere are many ways to photograph this place, but for me, it made sense to abandon traditional landscape interpretation. I chose to use a drone, taking advantage of favorable wind windows, to fly over the geothermal pools and focus exclusively on their shapes, colors, and stratifications. I maintained a low altitude, a few meters above the ground, waiting for the raking light to begin shaping the surfaces, revealing their volumes and micro-variations. When the wind began to move with more determination, sweeping away the water vapor and opening up the view, the structures emerged with sudden clarity. It was at that moment that the place revealed its deepest complexity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe shapes and colors observed from above immediately brought to mind, for me, dynamics that belong to physics and the universe: energy fields, transforming nuclei, unstable systems in temporary equilibrium.
