Behind the work
After the sudden appearance of Ra Gusela, the sky slowly continued to clear. The clouds, which until recently enveloped everything, began to lift and let through a wider and more stable light. The landscape had changed intensity compared to the previous image I had created. If before the mountain imposed itself as an absolute presence, now it was the ground that spoke.
The snowfall of the previous day, combined with a strong and persistent wind, had sharply shaped the surface. The wind-blown snow had accumulated in small undulations, then refrozen during the night, creating a subtle and irregular texture. With the light now more raking, close to sunset, these details began to emerge strongly, sculpted by shadow and contrast.
In this transition, the gaze lowered. After observing Ra Gusela standing out among the clouds, attention shifted to the surface, to what the wind had left behind. The light was no longer a sudden event, but a presence that calmly traversed the space, revealing every fold, every tension of the snow.
Royal Power was born this way, as a natural continuation of Ra-Gusela. Not from the grandeur of a peak, but from the silent strength of the elements: wind, cold, and light which, together, transform the landscape into something solemn.
