THE ALPS

The Alps are matter and time.
Lifted rocks, carving glaciers, ridges emerging for a few moments in the light before returning to the shadows.

In these mountains, time has two measures: the slow measure of rock and the fragile measure of light. Rock is stratification, ice is memory.

From the Apuan Alps to the great massifs of Mont Blanc and the Dolomites, The Alps is born from continuous exploration. It is among these mountains that my gaze has found its own measure.

The landscape is not just observed, but traversed. Walking and waiting modify perception, transforming the image into the result of a lived time.

The Alps is a continuous relationship with the mountains: a confrontation with scale and time.
